Jonathan Etter, MD (Corneal Specialist @Physicians Eye Care Center) Jonathan Etter, MD, FACS is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of cornea and anterior segment diseases at Physicians Eye Care Center in Columbia, Maryland. He performs advanced cataract surgery, corneal transplantation, anterior segment repair and other surgeries of the ocular surface. Dr. Etter also founded the Dry Eye Center at Physicians Eye Care where he manages a wide spectrum of dry eye disease, blepharitis and other corneal pathology. He attended Duke University as an undergraduate where he graduated magna cum laude and received his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College where he was admitted into the Alpha Omega Honor Society. Dr. Etter completed his ophthalmology residency at Duke University Eye Center where he won the national Ophthalmology Times writing competition. He then completed advanced training in cornea, external disease and refractive surgery at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Prior to private practice, Dr. Etter spent five years on faculty at Krieger Eye Institute of Baltimore where he was honored with the Resident Teaching Award as well as the Champion of Care Award for the entire LifeBridge Health System. He also has contributed extensively to ophthalmic literature, authoring numerous peer-reviewed papers, textbook chapters, original articles, and scientific presentations. Dr. Etter is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology as well as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
